Last Sunday I preached about the doctrine of the Trinity and argued that it's less important to understand this doctrine as a way of passing on the revealed work and character of God. We should avoid getting to caught up, as preachers, in describing what God is and instead go with what God does or what God is like. In other words, you can't talk about the doctrine of Trinity without also talking about salvation history and also about how at the heart of God is relationship.
