Sermon - Easter 6 2008

This Sermon that I gave on Easter 6 (April 27) 2008 was mostly given to the kids. Once a month they stay with their parents in church as we do an interactive children's sermon of some kind. Mostly I was preaching about the "Advocate"--the Holy Spirit--that Jesus promises to send in John 12:15-21.

Here's the MP3 file...

Delightful! The Holy Ghost the Indexer. Yes, I can work with that!

As so many of your blogs do, it reminds me of precious Church moments of my youth. This one, in a little white-clapboard church near Montreal in 1946 or 7 and Mr Machin sitting on the (chancel?) steps telling us one of his special stories for children. I wish I could remember more than one of them.

Of course, in those days any questions the minister asked were rhetorical. Good little boys and girls only spoke when spoken to and church was definitely a place "not to disgrace one's family". So glad to see that children at COTM are being taught how to give a good account of the faith that is in them.
